I don't know because I have never used them, but I've heard from just about everyone that the Jet chip and the throttle body spacer are nothing but expensive paper weights. They don't work worth a $hit.

I agree with Kevro. I ran a Jet chip on my 90 Ramcharger, and got decent gains from it, but I haven't heard anything good from people who've used them with these Magnum engines. I've heard that the Hypertech power programmer works very well, and is on my list of future goodies to buy. I've also heard that the throttle body spacer is wasted coin.

I also think the throttle body spacer is a waste of money, along with the chip...best upgrade would be cold air intake(mine is from MAC PERFORMANCE), Headers, and ignition and computer upgrade..all of the are my personal opinion though

Like it was said above, the spacer does nothing. Spacers were originally designed for carburators and Throttle Body Injectors, which both inject into the air at the top of the intake. The spacers gave the air and fuel more time to completely mix, making it more efficient and making more power.

Our engines have Multi Port Injection. The throttle body on this system meters the amount of air coming in, but the fuel is injected right at the opening to the cylinder head. Since the fuel mixes in downstream of the spacer, the only thing it can do is MAYBE increase your intake air velocity slightly. But the larger plenum volume would lower vacume, and negate any gains from increased intake velocity.

Yes, I am an engineer. Long story short, don't waste your money.

FYI, another good reason not to use the spacer is that with some aftermarket cold air intake systems, it won't fit under the cowl because of how far back the center of the intake sits in the engine compartment (at least on the 5.2's). I have an Airraid Cold Air Intake, and the wing nut that holds it all together on top of the throttle body has about 1/4 inch clearance to the underside of the cowl. The sales rep that sold it to me said going with the Airaid intake and Airraid spacer requires a body lift. Seems like way too much hassle for what everyone seems to agree amounts to nothing
