Default Truck dies and no codes

I can't figure this one out. Sometimes I can start my truck up no prob and drive to town. Then I drive down the road and it looses all power. Sometimes I can start right back up and others it can take over an hour. There is no consistancy with this prob. I can sometimes go for miles and sometimes i can't make it three. Have swapped out sensors from another 5.2 ltr that I have and still no help. Still waiting for a crank position sensor because other is a auto tranny. It's a 94 and am hoping I don't have to drop the gas tank. At least thanks for letting me rant.

No codes, or no check engine light? Soft codes won't illuminate the MIL. Lots of possible causes for your problem, so we're gonna need all the deatils you can possibly give.

Just going on what you've said, it sounds likethe fuel pumpmay be failing. If you have a pressure gauge, take it with you on your next trip. When the truck looses power or stalls, attach it and see what you've got.

I'll do that and get back to you all. Think I'd rather replace pump than pcm. Have no idea what a pcm cost up here in the frozen norther.

Forgot to mention last night that the whole thing started when the bolts to the coil vibrated out and found it resting against the manifold. I bought a new coil and wire and have never been right since.

Mine did the same thing and I could hit the gas tank on the bottom (with the ignition switch in the on position and ,try her again and she wold fire right up. Try that it might save you sitting on the side of the road . I changed out the fuel pump and so far no more trouble. terry----------tboss
