Thermostat housing and bolts to replace the thing??
It looks to be about a mile and a half down into the bowels of the motor
with everything the engineers at Mopar could put on top of it in the way!!!
I've got a new housing, a new 180 thermostat but, any tips on getting to it?
(It's seeping)... '96 with air. 360 motor. 4x4.

3/8's
6-12" extension
13mm mid-depth
whatever ratchet
then carefully remove thermostat housing assembly.
then cut off the damn "DURRR FRONT DIS WAY -->" tab
or you can remove alternator and make it a little easier... but more time consuming

I actually find it easier to take the belt off the A/C clutch pulley andunbolt the A/C compressor and lay it to the side. It's more R&R, but that way you can prperly clean the sealing area on the manifold and be sure that you've got the T stat and gasket aligned so that the housing is sealed. It takes a little longer to do it this way, but less time than doing it twice. Just my $0.02.

i removed the alt too
becarefull tho.. you have a coolant temp sensor stickin out right near where your working and if your not cautious,, you can break it off like i did..
like someone said above.. grind that retard tab off ..and it ill come out easier next time.. AND like someone else said above.. tack the gasket inplace with some RTV and it wont move when you stab the stat housing back into place!
