Gotta love a ford
Ok I know that this is a Dodge site but, I have a problem with a ford that I bet you all could solve. It's my bosses truck. I just changed the battery in it for him yesterday. When they changed the battery they didn't hook up a memory saver. Now when ever I drive the truck it dies when I turn the wheel real sharp or I put it into reverse. The lights and everything stay on but, the engine just dies. My first thought was the PCM was relearning everything. What do you guys think. By the way it's an F250 with the V10
I recently replaced the heater core on my truck and had the battery disconnected for almost two weeks. It remembered everything, including the radio pre-sets. That being said, I think a wire or connection was knocked loose based on your description that the truck dies when shifted into reverse.
Most of the stock dodge radios have little watch batterys in them, I bet your PCM lost power... You really cant tell unless your really picky...
I dont think the truck should die from that just from the battery being unplugged... but then again it is a ford... maybe give it a week for so...
If that still is no good my only advice would be sell it, and get a chevy or dodge.
