I've modded my TPS for the proper voltage, wouldn't that fix it?

4x4play - I like the FIPK so far. I Reallyhated the factory air box, and I think the K&N made a definate improvement.

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the JTEC Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software (**99Cal19D**, 00Cal19, 01Cal04, and 01Cal18).NOTE : **THIS BULLETIN ADDS 1999 5.2L AND 5.9L (BE/BR) 4WD RAM TRUCKS WITH SYMPTOM # 2 (COMMONLY CALLED "BEAMING") BELOW.**

MODELS:
**1999** - 2001 (BE/BR) Ram TruckNOTE : THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO ALL **1999 THROUGH** 2001 (BE/BR) RAM TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH A 5.2L, 5.9L, OR 8.0L ENGINE AND CALIBRATION LEVEL PRIOR TO (LESS OR LOWER THAN) THOSE LISTED IN THE OVERVIEW ABOVE EXCEPT 3500 5.9L CALIFORNIA CAB CHASIS.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some vehicles may exhibit one or more of the following performance conditions:

1.
Perceived lack of power in third gear due to converter lock-up in 3rd gear. This reprogramming eliminates 3rd gear lock up.

2.
Surge after lock-up (40-45 m.p.h.) in 4th gear. This reprogramming raises torque converter lock-up speed to 52 m.p.h.

3.
Transmission does not upshift from 3rd gear after a 4/3 downshift. (Most often noticed when cruise control is engaged.)

Proper TV adjustment :
ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE

[*]Turn ignition switch to OFF position.[*]Remove air cleaner if necessary.[*]Disconnect cable end from attachment stud. Carefully slide cable off stud. Do not pry or pull cable off.[*]Verify that transmission throttle lever is in fully closed position. Then be sure lever on throttle body is at curb idle position.[*]Pry the TX cable lock (A) into the UP position (Fig. 236). This will unlock the cable and allow for readjustment.[*]Apply just enough tension on the TX cable (B) to remove any slack in the cable. Pulling too tight will cause the T. V. lever on the transmission to move out of its idle position, which will result in an incorrect T. V. cable adjustment. Slide the sheath of the TX cable (D) back and forth until the centerlines of the TX cable end (B) and the throttle bell crank lever (C) are aligned within one millimeter (1mm) (Fig. 236).[*]While holding the T. V cable in the set position push the T. V. cable lock (A) into the down position (Fig. 236). This will lock the present T. V cable adjustment. NOTE: Be sure that as the cable is pulled forward and centered on the throttle lever stud, the cable housing moves smoothly with the cable. Due to the angle at which the cable housing enters the spring housing, the cable housing may bind slightly and create an incorrect adjustment.[*]Reconnect the T. V cable (B) to the throttle bellcrank lever (C).[*]Check cable adjustment. Verify transmission throttle lever and lever on throttle body move simultaneously. [/ol]

Thanks everyone, I'll try the TV cable adjustment and get my PCM corrected. Currently I'm out of town (without truck.....boo hoo), but will let yall know what the outcome is.

tazme695 - please let me know about the flash number on your truck.

Please do let us know what happens with the re-flash. My truck does this too. I have adjusted the TV cable, modified the TPS, replaced govenors in the transmission valve body and nothing has worked.

I dont think its any computer error whatsoever. I think its the way these trucks were designed. they have a transmission built for towing. bouncer88 and I were discussing the 47re 4 clutch clutchpack swap, and from what we gather the 46re 3clutch clutch pack may be the issue in this senario. Most of us have tried everything under the sun to fix this to no avail, this is why I think its the clutchpacks.
