RE: Propane Conversion
A few years ago when I was researching the Dodge 5.2 Magnum with the Compressed Natural Gas option
I did some national junk yard searches that included Canadian yards too.
I noticed that there were quite a few propane aftermarket converted Magnum 5.2 and 5.9 V8 Ram pickups in Canadian junk yards.
I believe this was because at one time at least one of the Canadian Provincial governments gave a tax credit for propane conversion...but I am not certain.
Natural gas is much cheaper yet than Propane.
At current costs of $8 per million BTU that is equivalent to less than 90 cents per gallon gasoline.

RE: Propane Conversion
Propane has its benefits but for a DD I don't think it'd be worth it. It has a nice high octane and very little carbon but it doesn't really give more power.
Go over to pirate4x4.com and search for it. Theres a few places that sell the stuff to do it and its really not to hard or expensive.

RE: Propane Conversion
It is not too well known
but Cummins actually makes a version of the I6 5.9
that has sparkplugs and runs on Propane or perhaps CNG.
Converting low priced used Ram gasolines V10s to this engine
is possible and might be profitable.
It is possible to find this engine in some wrecked school buses.
