Default AT Transmission

My AT transmission has been causing me some grief in my 95' Ram 1500. It won't shift into 3rd properly, and I have to give it gas to get it in reverse (which always gives me a nice surpise!), it also sometimes requires force to move the gear select out of park.

So I was thinking about going down to the junkers and maybe take my chances with a used tranny (I am a student and a new tranny is far out of the question).

From what I have heard, there are a few differnt AT transmission models kicking around for this truck, is this true? and if so, is there some that are better than others?

if you go find a used one, it is going to have probably same problems.
if you have the time and patience, rebuild it yourself!
You can buy a Tranny rebuild manual on ebay cheap.
you have the

if it reqires force to moe it out of park, have you tryed adjusting the linkage? and a service, fluid flush amd change, filter change and band adjustment? not saying thats all thats wrong with your tranny but sometimes pepole think these trucks have bad trannys (whitch they do) but that always causes pepole to jump to the conclution the trannyis had it
