Hi. I have a 96 ran 1500 dose any one know anything about the tranny in this truck .I was driving to work one night and the tranny started to slip in and out of gear I put it in (N) and back in to (D) it was fine for a few sec’s when it got up to 45mph it down shifted on it own and now when I start out cold it’s not as bad but when it warms up it won't shift out of 1st gear unless I go about 50mph and then it is at a high idle I know that’s not good any help? Please it’s a 360motor

 

I don't know about the slipping, but my 94 with a 5.2 was having problems with the shifting even after I had the trany rebuilt and it ended up being the govenor was sticking and had to be cleaned up.
