So I found out my exhaust manifolds have a nice 1/8" gap between them and the heads which is causing that anoying ticking and making my check engine light come on every week. So I'm getting the flowtech shorty headers for the emissions crap and price. Figured why not upgrade if the old ones are shot?

Anyway, as of right now, I've got everything stock except I removed the muffler and put in a straight pipe from Advance, and added a ressonating tip. I have a chery bomb glass pack that I plan on putting in the place of the pipe after the headers are installed. My question is how loud will this be? I like to be heard, but I don't like tickets. I've had cat-backs on the cars I've owned in the past and the cops around here don't care too much unless it's insanly loud, and you are rattling their windows.

I do plan on either buying an aftermarket y-pipe, or having a muffler shop make one for me, and then gutting the cat. But I can't do that until I have the extra cash lying around. I'd have to get an o2 sim.

So does the header's/glass pack combo sound good with the stock size pipe? I will upgrade to a 3" pipe eventually but for right now, I'd like to get this engine breathing better. I have the intake, so I need the exhaust.

 

Im assuming your running a cat? If you are it probabily will be about as loud as my truckwith the setup from whenI bought it, if not, get ready for loud.

Stock except stock muffler was replaced with flowmaster 10 series 1 chamber, and resonator deletes.

Its not as loud on camera as in person, but turn your speekers up a good 50% and youll get the idea.

Listen to them side by side at the same time, youll notice a big diffrence.

And I like the sound of that first clip. It's what I like to call a "Natural Exhaust". I was kinda using something like that on my RC. It was headers, y-pipe, and then straight pipes out the side before the passenger rear tire. Love the sound of it, but it was WAY loud.

i have true dual. highflow cats from magnaflow and dual thrush glasspacks. its sounds wicked. its not loud as in police giving you tickets but it turns heads ill tell ya that i love it. i got the finger from an old lady today cuz she ran out in front of my truck in a parking lot and i slammed on the brakes then floored it when she crossed and she flipped me off .. funny as hell she was like 80 :P but ya deffinatly sounds wicked man
