stalling out, EGR solenoid???
My truck, 98 ram 1500 w/360, has been stalling out when I have been driving and idling if the rpms get to low, so I have been driving it in 1st and 2nd gear going down hills and around corners so it wont stall out. At first I thought it was the fuel filter, but then my buddy said it might be the EGR solenoid. Could this be? The problem first started when I was pealing out with my friends. I thought I sucked up some bad gas. I changed the plugs also.
I would look at your IAC solenoid (Idle Air Control). These are on the back of the throttle body and control how much air goes into the motor at idle (how novel huh?). Anyway, they get VERY dirty and plug up. I just replaced mine out of the notion of cheap insurance, but if you search for IAC cleaning then you will find a detailed how to guide on cleaning it to possibly get it working.
