Default New Guy Questions Ignition/tires/lift

Hello everyone,
I finally got a 2001 Ram. I wont be able to drive it until I get back to the states, but the little lady is keeping it warm for me (she actually bought it for me...lol). My truck has the optional 17x8.5 rims on it. Does anyone know what the OEM tire size was on these? I have been told 275/70/17, but thought only Sports have enough height for those tires (believe them to be around 32 inches tall). I'm actually hoping that it does have the height.I really enjoy the ride height of the sports with those rims.I'm also looking for suggestions on my intake and ignition. I was thinking of putting one of Summits (Mallory) ignitions in it with a blaster Coil. Anyone had any engine code trouble with aftermarket ignitions? Thats about it for now. Take care everyone, hope to hear back from you, but dont know how soon I will be able to reply.

as far as ingitions go that can be a hit or miss please read MSD website . If just using a blaster coil alone you must use a ballest , If you are using a blaster with the "BOX" then no ballest is needed .Caution: some read about frying the PCM.....My truck is a 96 my be more forgiven ..

Everything I have read is that those ignition upgrades you're looking at are going to be a waste unless you've done some serious engine mods. You'll never recover your money in mpg gains and you will not feel a difference in performance.
