Default ordered that mopar air filter assem. but one question...

so last night i ordered that mopar air filter assem. form summit racing that looks awesome. I now have one question i need to put a new breather on so i look at Autozone and all the 1-1/4" breathers come with a warning that say "may not be used with emission controlled vehicles" does that mean that i may fail an emissions test if i installed it? thanks

The standalone breather I have is from Mr. Gasket. I don't recall seeing -that warning on the one I bought though, and I have passed emissions with that setup installed. Perhaps it just went unnoticed. The reason they are not used is so the gassious back pressure in the valve covers are not realeased into the air. That is why the stock setup has the little tube that directs the gasses back into the intake. If your worried about it, it really woldn't be that hard to put a bung of some sort on the base of the new Mopar assembly, and just run your current valve cover tube into it.

this is a rule of thumb , well at least at our garage , as long as there is no check engine light or the emmisions come back as pass we dont care what you have under the hood , If you fail then we start looking a little closer..all depends who you go to..

With my setup I ran the hose from the valve cover to the bunge on the air filter and looks great as the hose is routed to the back of the engine.
