DRL install on 2000 Ram
Hey guys. I just bought a 2000 Ram from the US and shipped it to Canada. I have to install Daytime running lights on it and bought the Blue Streak DRL-1 kit. I have tried to install it but Im not sure which wires on the actual headlights to wire it to. The instuctions say not to wire it to the common wire. Does anyone know which wire is for low beam and which is for highbeam? It is the Sport model with dual bulbs. Any help would be appreiciated. Thanks

RE: DRL install on 2000 Ram
easy and cheep way to have DRL's use a relay triggered by a keyed source to turn the low beams on
use a standard relay
hook 30 to the bat with a 20 amp fuse
hook 85 to a good ground
hook 86 to something that comes on when the key it turned on (ie the wiper or blower motor fuse in the fuse box)
hook 87 to your low beam light
doing this will cause youe low beam lights to be on whenever the truck is running, there is an added bonus to this because it s a sport with dual bulbs when your high beam is on so will your low beam making it brighter for night driving, i have used this method to hook up DRL's in the past and because you have dual bulbs having quaded headlights (both low and high beam on at the same time) is legal so i don't see why you should have any grief doing it this way
