Default Valve cover question

On my 01 Ram 5.9 gas I bought a couple months ago I noticed there is just a small hole (that is supposed to be there on the drivers side valve cover) with no filter or anything on it. Is this factory or did a snorkel/ filter thing fall off. Thanks

On one side, you should have a hole for the PCV. On the other side, you should have a hole for the tube that goes to the stock air cleaner assembly. It allows valve cover gases to be pulled back into the TB to be burned again instead of being released into the air.
