Cylinder #4 Misfire
Hey all. As some of you know I bought my 98 Ram 1500 5.2L about a month ago. Well my check engine light keeps coming on and throws the code for a Cylinder #4 misfire. Usually when I re-set the code it stays off for at least a week before throwing it again. this time however, it threw the code again not 5 minutes after I had reset it. Since this is the fourth time it has thrown this same code I think its safe to assume something is definitely wrong. I did a cursuroy check to make sure the plug wires were tight, which they are. Was planning to go pull the plug next and see what that looks like but its raining at the moment. So I thought I'd ask the forum at large what might be causing this problem so I have an idea what all i should check when it dries up and I can go outside and look under the hood.
TIA

Well I just finished giving her a tune up. Did Autolite Double Platinum plugs gapped at .35 Bosch premium wires and new cap and rotor. Die-electric grease on every connection. Also threw an Edelbrock round air cleaner on while I was at it. don't have time right now to go use Auto Zones code reader to clear the code as the GF is on her way over. I'll clear the code tomorow and reset my PCM. hopefully that solves it
You can have a misfire if the number 2 and 4 wire get too close together. Use this TSB when you route the plugs:

also the bosch plug wires aren't the best out there. A wire that is at least 7.5mm thick can help reduce misfires.
