Default Timing help

I know my V10 has coil packs and a CPS. How do i know if it is off timing ie. jumping time. My truck has me thinking that it has. Is there some way of checking this like old cars(which i'm used to working on). I'm not even sure if it is possible for it to jump time due to harmonic balancer coming off, or even damage to CPS. I checked out everything else i can think of with no success, which everything else seemed to check out great. Keep in mind its the V10 not a V8.

If the chain is good, there should really be no way to change timing except for rewriting the comp program
