Default Noisy T-Case?

Hey all, we have had some snow here in N. Utah, and I have been running my truck in 4H a bit. I noticed that it is really noisy when 4WD is engaged. Is it just these trucks or what? It's just like a roaring sound from underneath, and my only other 4WD ever wasa Nissan Frontier, which didn't roar. Is this common or do I have something that needs some TLC in my drivetrain?

Thx

most common serious problem is to break a snap ring inside the t-case which lets things shift and produces a grinding sound. if you hear that stop. some noise is normal from the chain inside the t-case.

I think that may be it. The chain noise... It isn't terribly loud, but it's noticeable after being in 2WD. I need to check it out and do some investigation... Thx

Yeah, some noise is normal from the chain in the t-case. Clanking or rattling is not normal.
