Tried a Superchips programmer on my -96

Default Tried a Superchips programmer on my -96

Yepp, i got a hold of a Superchips programmer for 98-03 Ram 5.2-5.9

Of course it doesnt work for my -96...

Anyone know what the difference is? I just get the error code saying that it dosent support my application, anyone else tried?

The PCM runs a different language or whatever you want to call it. I'm not sure which one a 96 is OBD II I'm pretty sure.

I'm sure someone will will explain it better than me.

It says it fits a 98-03 and yours is a 96......[sm=dontgetit.gif][sm=icon_stickpoke.gif]

I just get the error code saying that it dosent support my application,

94-95-?? is OBD-I (one).
???-98+ is OBD-II (two).

pcm's changed a lot during those years. at least superchips is more flexible than hypertech, which sells a unique part number for each and every year.

you should be able to sell the superchips on this or other forums or ebay.
