reallignment necesary?

Default reallignment necesary?

just got my new shocks in, and ready to install, i also ahve new springs and rear leafs to instal as well. basically a two inch lift or level it all out. any way i am wondering if i am gonna need to get an allignment after it is all installed. i habve to drive back to dallas then back home about 700miles total in the next week, and dont ahve place to do an alignment so should i hold off on the install? or what

Yes, the lift is gonna throw your alignment out of whack a little. At the very least set your toe in correctly, that's about all you need to do with that lift size anyway (and it only requires a tape measure).

I've used the string method with great results... string end to end on the truck and just off the rear wheels... same distance off the front and your set.

It shouldn't throw off your toe much if at all, but it will effect your steering center adjustment. (adjuster by the pitman arm) an easy way to get it close is (after you change your springs and shocks) loosen up that adjuster (15 mil wrench I believe) and go for a ride. Mark the position of the steering wheel while you drive on a FLAT road. (if you can find one). when you get home (or in a parking lot along the way) make sure the steering wheel is in the same spot that you marked it on your test drive.
Now go under the truck and adjust the sleeve (at the pitman arm)until the steering wheel is straight!
Works great just make sure you don't lock the column or the steering wheel won't move
