Default Opinions? (may vary)

Ok heres the scoop; The muffler I ordered just went on its second two week back order and I'm getting impatient. I ordered a 3 in 3 out stainless steel magnaflow muffler at the cost of $81.95 which was supposed to ship this week but will now be shipping on the 16th. I'm thinking very seriously about swapping it for a flowmaster super 44 3 in 3 out at the cost of $79.95 which will ship on the 2nd or the day I order it. Am I going to get equal performance out of the flowmaster? Who thinks I should make the switch? Who thinks I should wait?

i doubt either has a large margin of performance gains between the two... all your going to be able to tell is the sound and tone.. magnaflows are normally deeper/bass-ier/throatier sound... and the flowmasters are bit a higher pitched, more raspier

trust me ive had both brands on my truck and have installed both brands on some other rams aswell.. i enjoyed my magnaflow much better...especially being SS..thast a good deal and id hold out till its out of backorder.. especially if you live in the north east where we use salt on the roads ..my flowmaster is damn near rotted at the welds since they dont re-zinc the whole unit after its done being welded.

Ok, heresa third option; The magnaflow I ordered has an 18 inch body length (24 overall) and I could swap it for a 14 inch body length (20 overall). Has anyone run the 14 inch? What will be the differences? Thanx.

another option is the stainless steel UltraFlo from Dynomax
especially the 'RV' version that is about 36 inches long
and comes in 3/3 inlet outlet

this muffler has no more backpressure than the same length of 3" exhaust pipe
but has no helmholz resonator to eliminate drone noise in the 1600 to 2400 rpm range
so tailpipe lengths in the 55 to 75 inch range should be avoided
