Default GOT my truck...now some questions

Howdy all. I got my 01 off road edition with 35 thousand miles on it in that dark green. shes a beast. but i have a few questions.

im confused about tire sizes. i read a post on here that said 285 75 17 i think it was, is the biggest size you can fit under the truck with the stock lift. what standard size would that be equivalent to. my last truck had 33x12.50's on it, so i was thinking of getting something like that.

also whats this leveling kit i keep reading about and whywould i want one?

im sure ill have more later as im a complete nOOb to these trucks. thanks all

Congratulations on your new truck.

285 70 17s or 285 75 16s are a 33x11 tire

305/70/16s are a 33x12 inch tire, not sure what they would be on a 17" rim.

Just buy tires that say 33x12.5x17 and you'll be alright. They deffinetly make them that way.

Also I wouldn't worry about leveling kits, your truck is an offroad edition so it's already lifted 2" and it will clear the 33s no problem.

I put 35's on a stock off-road and they fit fine.

I didn't drive it.. but they fit.

Yeah don't do that. They'll rub. But you're definely good to go for 33s.
