Default Fuel pump rebuild...

Hello! First off I'm a newbie to Dodgeforum.com...(I've got a 1997 1500 , 4x4 , 5.2 liter engine) A friend of mine gets great results from his Jeep forum so I thought I'd give it a try!!! Does anyone know if I can replace JUST the fuel pump only and not the whole assy(regulator'float...)...any info would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks!! Bob H.

Stop by the dealer and see if you can just get the pump (and filter). I say the dealer, because I wouldn't use an aftermarket pump. I've seen too many aftermarket pumps fail in short order (6K-30K miles instead of the average 120K of a factory pump) to use anything other than factory.

I don't see why you couldn't get just the pump, but you never know with the dealer.

Last year the dealer told me I had to buy the hole sending unit$$$. Think I will buy two aftermarket pumps and put one under the seat . $500 cnd is just a little steep when all you need is a pump.
