Default My Dodge Ram

Okay. I am 20 years old. And I just baught myself my very first vehicle. With one of my favorite movies growing up being Twister. Bill Paxton's Red 1995 Dodge ram was what I drooled over for many years. So now I have money. My license and time to work and restore my very own vehicle, it makes sense to me that I autta buy myself a dodge ram. So I searched for months online and around town. I did not want my first vehicle to be pretty and road ready. I wanted to put Time, Blood and Sweat into it. I'm growing up where kids have their Mommies and Daddies buy them 2007 Honda Civics and Sunfires and Cavaliers (****-fires and Crap-aliers)
When i pull up next to them in my Big bad Dodge Ram and rev that BEAUTIFUL 5.2 L magnum in their faces.. OHHHH BABY. it will be a very nice day for me.
So I found myself a 1994 Dodge Ram. with 200.000 Kilometers on it. He asked $2000. I talked him down to $1000 and payed $950 for it. he let me have $50 for gas.
The engine starts on one turn and does not burn a drop of oil.
I need to..
Replace Both front Fenders (Did it already. Wow it was MUCH harder then i thought)
Replace Rocker Pannels
Replace Emergency brake line
Replace Disk brakes and Shoes
Replace metal link for the Hoes on reciving end of Power steering Pump.
Replace brake line to rear wheels.

I already have all the parts and done some work. It was not as expensive as I thought it would have been. I do want to give it a paint job. Its black outside and I like that. However I disslike the Red interior very much.

I would add pictures but I am new.. and Do not really know how.

Welcome to the forums, the is one hell of a truck you have just purchased mine has over 268,000 miles on her and still runs strong as new. I have the same engine and love to **** off ricers here around town ( i have headers with electric cutouts). Lots of go fast mods out there and lots of DIY stuff on here these are excellent forums much more informative than others i have been on. Good luck with your new truck!

Wow, you'll love this truck once you're done with it. Rebuilding an entire vehicle from the ground up is hard, I did it with my first car so now the truck is the "already-good-as-it-is" vehicle. Good for you.

Make sure you SEARCH as well, a lot of questions can be answered that way as well as asking in a new post. And good job on getting such a great deal on that truck! It will return what you invest in it.

Congrats on your truck purchase. I hope you have a lot of fun working on it and really making it yours.

A hoes on the receving end of anything can be a problem in many areas of life. (sorry, couldn't resist.)

I'm 20 as well and bought my first vehicle; a 96 for 3 grand. Looked good, but has various little problems. Check on swappin out your ball joints. It's a fun job and saves a whole lot of $$$$$.

I love it but have put over 1700 in it so far, and plan on another 6-7k for a pretty darn sweet street gas guzzlin machine. I'm sure people get annoyed when I post my plans but I think it's a good idea for everyone to share their ideas on what to do next. These magnum blocks are nice, if only the transmissions following were as nice; but if you can dish out a little over 3 grand, Dr Evil and APS make great transmissions. I'm more inclined to the Dr Evil myself, but have yet to actually test either one, so I'm not a very valid reference. The stock box sucks, get that thing off as soon as possible. I'm going with a Mr Gasket air cleaner; cheap and effective.

other than that, search around for various things (spark plugs, mufflers, intakes, plenum, it's all here)
