94-95 rams different from yonger second gens?
Ive seen manufacturs develope parts from years 1996-98 and 99-01 and exclude the older second gens. Ive also seen mods that exclude these years. Are there big differences in the design of these trucks? I want to do the wheel cyclinder swap for my 94 ram 1500 but keep seeing people say that for years 96-98 to use cyclinders from 98 1 ton. Any one know some dodge ram history that might explain the differences between the older trucks.
94-95 is obd I. 96?-01 is obd II.
94- ?? is 46RH, hydraulic tranny. -01 is electronic 47RE.
middle years have EGR valve, laters don't.
otherwise, there is not a whole lot of difference.
the brake/wheel cylinder thing is very minor. ther's a little difference in size of master cyl, size of wheel cylinder (size of wheels/tires), angle of brake line attachment. i'd think you could take your old ones off and compare carefully and go ahead and upgrade to the newer, larger sizes.

96 is the year for the OBD II , Try to find a performance for the PCM unless its a jetchip.. 94-95 has a hypertech PTM , 97-01 has the hypertech handheld...
The 1994-1995 Rams had GM Delco made brakes
and an electronic factory 'rear wheel anti-lock' RWAL system made by Kelsey Hayes Inc.
Later the brake parts changed,
perhaps in 1996
but most certainly by 1998 when a two-piston front caliper was factory issue
1994-1995 have a 0-5 volt speed sensor at the rear of the transmissions
airbags seem to have changed a bit every year
muffler and exhaust pipe size changed along with a camshaft
about 1998 which led to to slight horsepower upgrade
on the Magnum 5.9V8 from 230 original to 240 and then 245
There have been at least two different cylinder head part numbers
after 1995
the divider down the center of the intake manifold changed,
first got shorter, then disappeared
as the EGR system was dropped
with the 1996 ODB-II controls
