I officially Hate my truck
+1 on TPS. also, if you haven't done your plenum, that's probably sucking air and robbing power. at lower speeds and rpm's i have to run with OD off and keep the rpm's up over 1800 or so. at 1500 or lower mine is a pig.

Good luck!,

I checked my plenum the other day, hoping it was bad. but there is no oil pooling in intake. there is oil by the pcv hose though. I might try the TPS, how much do they cost???

hah, don't lose hope man. the best advice i can offer you is to have your truck plugged up to a scanner. you can view all your sensors, the voltage coming in and going out, and check that each one is working properly. you can even drive it down the road and look at them. i wouldn't just hop around changing parts until i knew what was wrong with it. if you can't afford to have it plugged in, get ahold of a good voltmeter. usually a tps has three wires going into it. one will be your 5v input, one is reference, and one is going back to the ecm. check that you have a good 5v in, and when you plug your voltmeter into the output, move the throttle back and forth. if you see your voltage drop out at some point, it means you have a dead spot in the tps, and it needs to be replaced. if you don't find any deadspots, the tps is fine. just replacing parts that don't fix it will get you more pissed off. i say if you can afford to have it plugged in at a shop, go for it. it may cost more but at least you'll get it fixed right instead of swapping parts. it could be something as simple as plug wires... ya know? also take off your distributor cap and look for carbon build up on the terminals and on the rotor... you wouldn't believe how much power that would rob. good luck with your problem, and don't worry, my truck runs like a dream on the highway, and it will outrun most other vehicles, especially above 50 mph.
You know, one other thing that hasn't been mentioned in a while is the "Death Flash." That' can rob power from a perfectly good running truck. To all of you complaining about performance: do you have a sticker over the PCM that says soemthing like "factory authorized reprogram"? Search Death Flash here and there's a ton on it. A good handheld chip programmer like the superchips or hypertech can cure it, and a flasher from B&G or SCT is even better.
