Default How reliable are the 2000 Ram's?

Hey I'm new to this site and I am looking to buy a dodge 4x4
Currently I am looking at a 2000 1500 ram with the 5.9 magnum in it, onnly 35k miles on it

Are these trucks pretty reliable? have you guys had any problems with this engine? the transmission? interior?

Please let me know I could use some advice
=)

Thanks

Overall they are pretty good, they arnt perfect. but no vehicle is...

Most people will scream that the trannys are ****, the trannys in these trucks wont ever be winning any awards for being a reliable tranny in stock form, but they arnt as bad as people make out... They usually go out around 130k... I herd of some going 300+ and some going out with only 10k (obviously a flaw in that particular tranny).

The motors are solid, with pretty much everyone eventually in its like (usually around 80k) needing a intake plennum pan gasket.
Most of the motors will go 250k+ miles.

Transfer cases are solid, axles are fairly solid, suspinsion is solid, interior is alright... alot of people have cracked dashs (#1 problem of these trucks) allthough most will never crack. The cup holders are a cool design, but make noise when they are down and mine is partially broken, if you put too heavy of drink in there is pops down alittle bit... not a ver big deal.

Dodge 1500's are usually the "truckyist" of the half tons... that is esspecially true for the year 2000... Fords newer half tons are "commuter trucks" and chevys are a good mix between the 2.

Trannys are prone to failure in the older model trucks. but i think they are better in the 2000 model. I would say it would be pretty reliable with only 35,000 miles

I have a 2000,2500 4x4 with about 140K had it less then 10k, so far so good.

I sold a '01 2wd Ford SuperCrew to buy it with plenty of play cash left over, the bigest advantages in my mind for a Dodge 4x4 of this generation is its superior off-road abilities and it can be modified for even better performance, (nice tried and tru solid axles) Ford and GM 1/2 tons just can't compare

The bigest disadvantages compared to GM & Ford, Fuel economy not so good, ride not as smooth, not as modern feeling or looking to some people
