Man, that's fantastic mileage. I wish I got that good, but it's a large truck so it gets what it gets. Still, I would love the 16mpgs though. Enjoy spending less money to drive around a cool truck!!

Even at 11 mpg, I am still within the city rating as posted on the www.fueleconomy.gov site. So getting 16mpg is great.
You figuring it out at the pump and your speedo is calibrated?

This site is fairly accurate, taking your driving style in to consideration...
Funny how they don't rate the truck as a Gas Guzzler.

Yeah I just do the math at the pump when I fill up, and no my speedo isn't calibrated. I Know it's a little bit since I'm running bigger tires 285/75. I'd say 90 percent of my driving is Highway @ 65-75 MPH. I'm not sure what I get in the city. I'm just glad that I'm getting a noticeable increase. Now instead of filling up everyday (Monday morning and then again on Tuesday afternoon/night) I can go a day and a half now. LOL!!!

You got me jealous!!!
That would save me $16 a week in gas, and $832 a year!!!

I am still waiting fora production Diesel Dakota. I found some people who did the conversion and got mid 20's for MPG.
its not great, but I figure if the Mopar Engineers put their minds to it, I would know what my next truck would be.

Note: I have the 25 gallon tank and don't let it go below a 1/4 tank.
WOW you fill up once a day? heck even at once every day and half is a huge gas bill. its $3.22 a gallon here, and a weeks worth of driving is about 20 gallons or so. without using the calculator, its roughly $64 a WEEK for a fill up. If you are filling up EVERY DAY thats about $320 Monday-Friday, assuming you walk to places on the weekend, add another $64 if you drive half as much a day on the weekends, so thats got you up to $384 a week in gas. YIKES, now you are getting 16mpg, so thats about a 45% savings in gas, your $384 is now $211.

WOW. Sorry I hope I don't sound like a whiner when i b*tch about $64 a week in gas.

I get travel pay for work but it doesn't cover all the gas. I drive about 160 mile a day going to and from work. I don't really do anything over the weekend but stay home. I was getting about around 250 miles before I had to fill up. I am looking for something better to drive for work now that I'm driving more. Driving my wifes mustang doesn't cut it. With some of the Jobs site I got to drive into I almost need 4 wheel drive, even more so during the winter. Hopefully I'll be pushing work in the near future and the company I work for will supply the truck and gas card.

I never trust cleaning inexpensive parts when they fail. Sure they might work after cleaning, butmightas well put anew part on since you are going to take it off anyways.

You can get a new one for around $40.
From what I read in another post, just your standard carb type cleaner to keep it from sticking.

Google the part...

I know what your saying. I went to Auto Zone and O'Reillys and they didn't have em in stock. [:@] So instead of waiting a week for them to get the part I went ahead and just cleaned it. So far it's working great. If or when it starts to act up again I'll replace it.

As far as cleaning it I used Throttle body cleaner and a brush.
