ball joint pairs?
had the beats to NTB for an alignment and they told me I need upper and lower ball joints on the pass. side. I thought it was a little bogus at first, the truck only has about 83k on it but I have only it had it for 2 years and dont know what the history is. then I started gettin the slight bang around left turns and a little of a death wobble around 70... now the alignment is really bad. Anyway I am doin the ball joints myself and I was wondering if I should do both the pass. side and driver side together or if its ok to jus do the pass side and hold off on the driver side. Any thoughts?
you could do just one side, but what the hell. you've already got your hands dirty, the truck up on jacks, and the one side done... year or 4wd? if it has the unitized bearing, this can be a tough job if the axle bearing won't come out of the knuckle. 4wd? - you might want toreplace axle u-joints while its apart.
Do them all with the Advance kit. took me about 3 weeks with the wrong tools to get any kind of improvement; 4 hrs for both sides with the Advance kit. The writeups on here help out tons.
oh sorry I had been up for like 30 straight hours when I wrote that thread I guess that info would help... the truck is a 99 1500 4wd pretty much bone stock... for now anyway [sm=smiley15.gif]. I have read alot of the info on here about doin the job so I think I should be ok with my jeep gang helpin me. I also took the note on getting the advanced auto parts tool rather then the auto zone tool. thanx for the advice.
