Default startin the mods...

ok so I am replacing the upper and lower ball joints on my 99 1500 4wd 5.9 which as of now is stock... I think I also need new shocks... or it could just be an excuse to mod who know, anyway I was looking at the 3" lift from top gun customz. the kit includes a set of 3" coil spacers 4 rough country 8000 series shocks with boots, control arms, and acast iron lift blocks for the rear... which I would probrably switch out for the optional add a leaf kit for the extra 35 bucks. any experience with this company or the lift would be awesome. any input regarding the iron blocks vs. the AAL kit for the rear would be helpful

I dont know about the company, but i would go with the add a leafs or new leaf springs, cause if your gonna do some wheelin, those blocks can cause axlewrap in which case they can fall out

adding on to that original post... here is the site with the lifts on it http://www.topguncustomz.com/Store/products.php?S_ID=56 the ones Im lookin at all the way at the bottom. now they have a kit that is just the front coil spacers 2 shocks and 1.5" lift blocks for the rear. as another option (more economic) I was thinking about going with this cheaper kit with a 2" AAL kit for the rear. any thoughts? I would basicly be loosing the back shocks and 1" of lift in the rear... or I can keep the lift blocks with the AAL kit and have 3" in front with 4.5 in the rear. Would this work/be safe/look stupid. All thought are welcome even if its just calling me an idiot.the diff is arount 100 bucks which is totally worth it to me if this will work.

sorry may have gotten a lil confusing...

option 1: 3" spacers in front 2" iron blocks in rear (or AAL kit) 4 new shocks, for 3" front 2" back.

option 2: 3" spacers in front 1.5" blocks in back, 2 new shocks (fronts)

option 3: 3" spacer in front, 2" AAL kit in rear, 2 new shocks (fronts)... (would this one even work or would I need the new shocks in the back for the extra height anyway?

I would like to get the most bang for my buck... but if the diff. would be worth it between the new shocks in the rear or no new shocks in the rear then I will go with the new shocks. thanx again for helpin me. this post just goes to show ya I am a true ADD kid
