Hi Everyone. I'm about to buy a Garmin C430 GPS and i'm wondering where to mount it. I don't want to stick it to the windshield. My 2 thoughts for those with a 98 dash are the little middle section of the fold down cup holder assembly, or some how rigging it to sit in the fold down ash tray since I don't use it at all. Any other thoughts? Basically it comes with a 4 inch round mounting platform that has 3M tape on the back.

 

eww.. stick on accessories. I wouldnt think you would like the look of something stuck to your dash. If I were you, I would find something more like a 7' flip out stereo.. with built in GPS.

eh? (this model isnt GPS compatable) but I know there is some.

 

I have a garmin nuvi 250 and I have a 96. So I mounted the round thing on my pull out cupholder. Its all flush and looks good. No one can see it either so they wont try and steal it. Ill take a picture of my set up after school.

I have a Magellan Maestro and I stick it to the windshield. The windshield is huge so it does not interfere with sight lines and it sits up in a good spot for ease of reading and use. I take it off the holder and either put it in the locked glovebox or take it with me. When installed it sits low to the dash and looks fine.

I have a portable GPS and found a mounting holder for it and just attached it to the dash with self adhesive tape and this works fine and is very solid. I mounted it by the drivers piller and this does not interfer with your line of sight and is easy to see and do not have to take your eyes off of the road for long. Just my 2 cents and I can post a pic after work.

 

I just got this for my sirius, works great. Plenty of mounting holes on the back for diffrent applications.

Devon thanks, I have a 98 so that won't exactly work. I think i'm just going to buy the same thing digger2500 got and mount it there, either that or just stick it on my cupholder mount..
