Default Do I need to do any computer mods with new tranny?

I was talking to a local mechanic who is usually pretty good and he was telling my today that when I get my APS put in I should do something about the computer because if I don't I was going to end up having transmissions problems again and that he has seen it several times. He told me I need to get the ECU flashed and he knows of a company that does it. Is it true that I need to do this or is the stock flash fine? I just don't want to have to replace my transmission again as much as I spent on it so want to take most of the precautions to avoid it. Does he know what he is talking about or is he wrong? I've just never heard of this before.

i'm not a transmission expert, but i don't know what a program change would do, other than change the 3 and 4 shift and tc lock points up or down a little. neither superchips nor hypertech allow you to do this, so you'd have to get a custom BG flash. not too many people have that, compared to 1000's and 1000's that have rebuilt transmissions. the APS is supposed to be a premium tough, bullet proof, long lasting transmission... i don't think its a valid concern.
