Back-flush the heater core. Cut inlet and outlet hoses in the engine bay, flush it with a garden hose, and then put in-line couplings in to re-attach the hoses. Should clear that right up.

welcome to the party.......................its an unsolved mystery, however i did flush my radiator and get little more heat. Parts replaced..heater core, radiator, thermostat. I think its an air lock some where in the block.

Try backflushing the core through the hoses if that doesnt work it could be the blend door isnt opening all the way but it does sound like you need a new core. Mine is almost the same way, it blows kinda warm but not hot, I just havent gotten around to pulling the dash to replace it.

The check valve on the vac line for your hvac is shot dodge replaced the valve with a bigger one which can be obtained at the dealership. It is the one next to the pcv line on your intake it has a little pancake valve on it. As for the controls I have heard of the blend door not opening all the way to the hot side. Check the DIY section up top lots of good stuff plus the complete repair manual for 01 rams but applys to all second gen rams and it cover the blend door problem.
