I can get a 2003 rear with a "new" LSD and 4.10 gears for $500plus my rear in trade. Will it fit my '96? The '03 is a hemi, my '96has the 5.9 motor and 3.55 gears, no LSD. If it fits, would the overall width be the same?

I've been wanting to have gears and LSD installed, and I could do thisinstall myself if it's a straight up swap. Would save me around a grand (mainly labor).

i cant remember if the 3rdgen rams used an american axle or a corporate axle.. .. pretty sure my buddies 06 ram has an american axle

might want to ask this questeion in the 3rd gen section ... some of them guys went from 2gen to 3gen.. theyll prolly know
