Mopar Perf Hydraulic roller lifters
I saw these in summit and was wondering if these are stock. They said they were a service replacement for magnum engines, but I don't know if 2nd gen 5.2s came with hydraulic roller camshafts. i thought they came with flat tappets.
If i was doing a HS roller rocker mod, would these be smart? I had a lifter go bad and wear a cam lobe down to nothing once before, andI don't want that to happen again.
Also, would it be worth the trouble? The upside is that i would probably be replacing 75% of the gaskets and seals with this mod, and thats always good. But head removal/installation blows.
Thanks

well...lets start by calling it a modification or replacement part. Flat tappet lifters are used with flat tappet cams, as hydraulic roller lifters are used with hr cams. We have a hr cam. Anytime you reduce friction or weight in the valvetrain your helping make power (or at the very least not use it up unnecissarly). I think the $400 for harland sharps for a 5/16th bolt mount is kind of silly when you could spend @300 and get a 3/8 stud convo and harland sharps that are stud mount, with polylocks.
