Default Overhead Thermometer

Hey guys, about a week ago my truck was parked as I was putting the trailer on it, and a DHL van hit me doing about 15. It didn't do any damage to my truck, but it did mess up something with overhead thermometer(the one in the cab that says outdoor temperature). The compass on it still works, but it constantly says 0C and it won't change from Farenheit to Celcius. I have looked around a little online and in some manuals but can't really find much information on this piece.

I was just wondering if you guys could give me a heads up of where the thermometer itself is located so I can mess around with it and see if I can figure out what is wrong. Thanks.

It states in my manual that if the thermometer reads 0C no matter what, then "you need to take it to your dealership for service". Basically, the sensor's busted or disconnected.

Where did he hit you?

I think it says OC for "open circuit"
Sensor probably broke or wiring got cut/pinched.
You don't say what year your truck is but 98+ sensor is in the grill 94-97 sensor is mounted on rad support by drivers headlight I believe.

Its a 1997. Hit hit me head on buy my truck is lifted so he kind of just went under the front bumper.

I will check for it by the driver's headlight and let you guys know, not really a fan of the dealer.

Thanks.
