distributers?

Default distributers?

can someone tell me whats the best distributer to use on our trucks, like one that will last and give you good hp and torque i found this website and i never heard of it but sounds good http://www.performancedistributors.com/

Actually if you take a look at the 318/360 Magnum distributor you will find that it is a very simple device. ALL of the controls for timing, including aprak advance, come from the computer. The distributor only reads the camshaft position sensor to relay the fuel sync information to the computer. The computer tells the coil when to spark and the distributor cap sends the spark. There is no vacuum advance either.

Basically what I am trying to say is there really is not any performance increases that you can obtain from a new distributor in our magnum engines. Now if you were not running Multi port fuel injection, then you can do a lot of things.

I believe the distributors that you see on those pages are for pre-magnum 360 engines or possibly magnum engines with carbureators. Save your money and use it for other mods. Search here and you'll find plenty of opinions on what mods are best and do the most for you.

Add a good quality cap and rotor and the stock distributer is fine.
