What Valves and Rockers??
Im kinda new here so any help you guys can offer will be greatly appreciated!!
I have a 2001 ram 1500 with a 318 and a 5 speed. I am going to order a KRC 210X cam from KRC performance, it says on their website that particular cam requires different valvesprings. Does anyone have a recommendation for what ones work best?
I also found a set of 1.5 Crane Gold rockers for a very good price, I dont think ill need them but it probably wouldnt hurt anything. I cant remember what the stock rockers are though, 1.5 or 1.6....
Thanks in advance for any help!

stock is 1.6 rocker , you will need a conversion kit for the crane rockers (different stud mount) 1.5 wont do you any good.. 1.6 roller rocker kit # 1435 .. with the 210x you will need the PCM reflash , on valve springs (MP P4876062 )
I would contact KRC directly for their recommendations on rockers and springs for your truck and that CAM. They should know what will work best with their CAMs. I would also suggest replacing your stock timing chain with a double roller while you have everything apart. The stock chain leaves much to be desired, and for less than $60.00 for a double roller chain set from Comp Cams, I wouldn't think twice about replacing it. Also, the stock rockers are 1.6, I do believe.
well first of all, are the crane rockers steal or alm.? If your gonna replace rockers your gonna want to go with alm. because they are lighter and give more power with less energy also saving a tad bit on gas.
Thanks alot for all your replies, I didnt know I would have to change the valve covers but thats OK I already have a set of Mopar covers ready to put on.
I will contact KRC sometime within the next couple days and see what they recommend as far as rockers and springs they recommend.
The rockers I was looking at were aluminum by the way, but I will see if there are any available in 1.6.
I also just bought the double roller from comp cams so I should be set?
Thanks again for all your help!!!

Those valvecovers should work just fine. The only thing that sometimes stops ya from running the stock covers is the baffle that runs the length of the cover. Taller helps to give more room if needed.
Indy,
Thats what I tought, the Mopar Performance covers dont have the baffle.
I will keep you guys posted when I get the $$$ to buy the cam and the time to put it in....
THANKS!
