RE: high flow cat>help
A person might want to check out the cats from Random Technology... Their stuff is priced compettively with magnaflow cats, are 50 state legal, and if I'm not mistaken, flow better than magnaflow's cats.
Web address is ( http://www.randomtechnology.com/dodge.html ) and info is readily available. I got the specs and I'm pretty ( 90% + ) that the flow charecteristics are better with these that with magnaflow. I just can't find that information right now. I'll post it later when I find it.
Ram Trucks
94-01
318&360
192-20003
94-01
318&360
With 2-1/4" Y-pipe and 3" Exhaust
141-22003

RE: high flow cat>help
One thing to consider about exhaust systems is this. For every 1 horsepower you need 2.2 cfm of cfm flow in your exhaust to allow you engine to not lose power due to backpressure. The higher flowing Cat (part# 141-22003) only supports 218 Hp before you'll start to have backpressure in your system which will have a negative effect on your motor if you have more Hp.
This is where I got that info.

Catalytic convertes
94 - 01 Ram Trucks; Engine 318 & 360; Part number 192-20003
CFM = 405 Price = 364.69
94 - 01 Ram Trucks; Engine 318 & 360; Part number 141-22003
CFM = 440-480 Price = 411.13
I'll try to get the cfm of the magnaflow for ya later.

Got it... Magnaflow has decided that it's not necessary to share the flow charecteristics of their high flow cats. Don't know why, but the tech. rep. wouldn't even comprimise for a pizza and a 6 pack. O well. Allz I know is that it's got around 35% better flow than original equipment, and the california version has 400 cells per square inch on their ceramic Cats and for the other 49 states 300 cells per square inch on their mettalic cats. higher the number of Cells per square inch, the more back pressure due to smaller holes (more restriction).
The High flow cats I got were theceramic type with 400 cells per square inch and it cost $37... I now realize I should've gotten the mettalic for $55 with 300 cells per square inch, but O well. It's already in the mail, but hey, free shipping, what can I say.
If you wana check them out, they are the thunderbolt cats at the bottom of the list : http://www.performance-curve.com/ind...TS&Category=17
