All this time I thought I had the Infinity sound system even though I don't think my stock H/U had 5 sliders. It had Infinity on the back along with all the speakers. It had the little amps on the front speakers and something was on the back ones too as I couldn't get any power out of them until I connected the remote turn on lead. Oh well, doesn't matter now as I don't have any of the factory stereo left.

I would bet that the rear speaker not working is a speaker gone bad. I've had this happen with my Accord and a tweeter in the Ram. I would honestly pull the door panels off and swap speakers from side to side and see if the one from the other side works. I'd be careful and pull the door panel once. It seems like after a few times on these trucks it breaks the door panel where it holds the clips if you take them on and off more than twice or so.

For the front it sounds like maybe the amp is shutting off if you hear a clicking. You said you had 3 wires connected to the blue wire? Maybe thats causing it to shutoff as it isn't getting the current needed. I've heard of this happening with people running several amps off that wire but it's not a common issue. I'd personally probably just rewire all the speakers from the H/U or get an amp and run wires from it. That way you will eliminate all issues unless it's something with the H/U. I will say though it's a big pita to run the wires into these doors on these trucks.

Yeah, my speakers had "Infinity" on the backs of them as well, but they are not the high quality "Infinity sound package" speakers unless you also got the head unit. I just got the expensive, nice aftermarket Infinity speakers and am half-shopping for a new head unit right now. But probably won't replace the current one for a while, am quite pleased with it as a factory stereo.

Alright, i think i got everything figure out with my deck. But now i am curious, what do you guys have as your after market speakers? I wanna get some new ones cause the stock ones do suck lol, the front is 5.25 in. and the rear is 6.5 in. What have you guys heard or own that really blows your mind at the quality level of the speakers? Im also looking to replace the dome tweeters that came stock.

I have this set of Polk DB 6.5" Components up front http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...mp;i=107DB6501

then for the rear I'm running a set of Polk DB 650's in 6.5". They are last years version of these I think. Might be 2 years old.
http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...b651&tp=95

I started with the Polk DB coaxials up front and stock in rear as I got a really good deal on them. When I went components I wanted the momo set but Crutchfield said they wouldn't fit and after looking around decided I might have to do a bit of custom work to get them to fit. They said the DB's wouldn't either but they were a lot closer to fitting so I got them and made them fit. It's just the tweeter will hit the door panel which doesn't really matter. You might not even mount the tweeter in that spot if you get the components.

I'm then running this Alpine 70w X4 amp to power all of the speakers.

For the subs I'm running 2 12" Infinity subs in a Q Logic Box.
http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...amp;i=1081250W

For the Sub amp I'm running a cheap profile amp I've had for a few years now. It was cheap but seems to work great. I have it at 2 ohms and it slightly underpowers the subs but still has enough power to power them and sounds great. I had it in my Honda previously and meant to put these subs in the Honda but due to it being broken down when they came I tried them out in the truck and liked them so much I kept them in there.

Last but not least I have a Alpine 9830 H/U thats several years old. One of the ones with the motrized face on it although it doesn't power anything at this time.

To me this is a pretty decent sounding setup. Maybe not the best but for the money spent it's really nice.

I used to have one of these 10" Kicker Comp VR subs in my truck but it's now been moved to the Honda. It hits hard and sounds good for a single 10".

I had 2 12" Infinity's in the Honda I bought at the same time as the 1000watt profile amp and slightly after those kickers but the rubber surround came apart on one of them so they were getting replaced with what is now in the truck.

I have a Profile amp in the Honda powering the Kicker that started life out in the truck. It's a AP400M and does 330watts or something RMS at 2 ohms which was more than the Kicker called for. Not a huge amp but all you need for a single 10" sub. It was a pretty decent setup. The 2 12"s just hit a little harder.

In my Honda I run Pioneer 6.5"s up front and Alpine 6x9's in the rear. The Alpines sound really good and are pretty impressive but I've just never been super happy with the Pioneers although I guess they are okay for 6.5"s.

I run a JVC Aresonal H/U in that which is probably 4 years old now. I don't know exactly how old but I've had it for quite a while. It's a decent h/u but is getting old and has a few issues. It powers the speakers in the Honda.

In our old truck I had a Alpine H/U I don't remember the model # powering a set of Polk Momo 6x9's in speaker boxes and it sounded pretty good. A Buddy still has the Momo's and after going through lots of stereo stuff it's the only thing he started with he still has. He also has really enjoyed them after I sold them to him.

If It was me I'd probably look for a nice set of Polk Momo's or DB's. Some of the Alpines are nice, Diamond Audio, and MB Quartz are also good speakers although a little more $. A couple of friends like Boston Acustics but I've never been super impressed by them or MB Quartz. My opinion is that the Polks are a lot better for the $.

BTW are you sure you have 5.25" speakers up front? Mine were 6x9's and I used an adapter bracket to fit the 6.5"s.
