So I just got back from being picked up by my wife after my truck wouldn't start. Had to leave it at the pizza parlor. When I turn the key all the normal lights come on, including the radio, but when I go to turn it over all power shuts down and I get a "click" from the engine compartment. I wait about a minute, then the power comes back up and the alarm goes off. I use my remote to shut the alarm, try it again and go through the same routine. The alarm goes through a "chirp, chirp, chirp" with the interior and dash lights blinking before the alarm goes off fully. I think it's my starter solenoid, or the starter itself, but I've never seen the power shutdown like this.

Anyone ever run into this before?

Well it's the new alarm. There's a short where the hood of the truck is rubbing against a wire and setting the alarm, where is turn it's disableing my ignition so I can't start the truck.

How friggin annoying
