Default Performance

Within a few weeks ill be having my new muffler installed. Flowmaster 40 Series Original series. Now my question is, what type of performance gains will i get by adding a High flow Magnaflow catalytic converter? Will i get low end power? How much horsepower?? The sound will be much improved but i also want performance.

not to sound like a dick , but changing the cat and muff isnt going to let you run a 1/4 in under 10 sec ,not that you said that...you gotta do a lot more than that, but this is where most ppl including myself start with there mods, if you start getting into depth with the motor as in.... rebuilding, , boring, cam, port +polishheads, rockers, pistons ,TB,complete top end ,and completebottom end, NOS, turbos, super charger, stroking it,ignition upgrade, headers, gears, etc. etc. etc. ,then you might be close, just telling it how it is......[sm=gears.gif][sm=icon_cheers.gif] i guess i did end up sounding like a dick.......[sm=sorry.gif]

Cool sound isn't worth $90 better throttle response is.
Overall I've heard good things about the magnaflow highflow cats. They seem to be of pretty good quality.

Its something to think about. But for now ill get my muffler and pipes fixed and go from there, then try and save up for the Magnaflow catalytic converter. My current one is probably in bad shape.

i changed my single in dual out, to a 3 inch single exhaust with a race 40 series muffler and didnt notice anything from the norm , except that i wasnt happy with the 40 race series sound, and need to get the 10 series for the "sound" i want , i know its nots gonna net me any more hp but just sound, i dunno maybe ppl get noise crossed with hp, the louder it gets they think the more hp they gained, just a thought! cuz thats the way i think sometimes
