I have a 2nd Gen, 2001 1500 Ram Quad Cab. I am about to buy new aftermarket speakers for it. The front passenger quit on me. I can't find anywhere on the web what the OEM speaker sizes are. HELP!! Please!

 

6x9 front. 5 1/4 rear.
watch your depth and tweeter protrusion.
if you have the premium 'infinity' sound system, beware they have amps on the speakers..

I had 6x9's up front but put in a set of 6.5" components with adapter brackets. For the rear I'm not 100% sure. I put 6.5" Polk DB's in and they bolted right up and fit fine with no modification but the factory one looked a little smaller slightly but still bolted up exactly the same. I'm thinking factory might have been 5 1/4" but I don't know if they were that small or not. 6.5"s definately fit without any modification though.

I'd checkout Crutchfield.com for speakers. They will tell you what will fit and what wont. I think the biggest thing you have to worry about is how far the tweeters stick out on the front speakers. I guess depth is something to double check on but I haven't seen a issue with it as it seems to have a fair bit of room.

 

Even if you didn't get the premium Infinity sound system, you may still have amps on the speakers.

My truck doesn't have the premium system, but had them.
