Help with temperature range for my 360
Hello there, I've got a problem with my Ram. I've got a 1995 Dodge Ram Truck w/360. Just recently I installed a new Computer Cam, Matching intake, roller rockers, and a pair of Mopar R/T heads on this baby. Everything is MOPAR on it. My QUESTION is, does anybody know where the temperature range should be at? I installed a 160 deg. F. thermostat and the engine is running at 210 deg. F.

210 is a normal heat range.
I hate to open this thermostat can of worms again but thermostat rating only sets minimum temp. if you want it to run cooler you might need a larger capacity radiator. How's the condition of your current rad? Could it be a bit plugged?
Are all the fan shrouds installed? Your modified engine is making more power and therefore generating more heat.

the stamped steel impellors of the 1992-1997 Magnum water pumps
have a tendency to 'cavitate' if the antifreeze mix is wrong
and this metal impellor can go bad as if it had been
'eaten by termites'
Check your water pump impellor by removing the suction hose from the radiator
and shining a light up there.
If that impellor still looks good
have a radiator shop check for internal fouling inside the core

I have seen corroded and lose impellers a few times but that was generally due to coolant gone acidic from being in there to long
