Is dodge a good truck?
Well let me start off by saying I've never been a "Dodge Man" or a Chevy Man or any kind of truck man. I currently own the following trucks:
1997 Dodge Ram 1500
5.2L Engine
4x4 Automatic
Extended Cab
Long Box (8' long)
1996 Ford F-250
5.9L Engine
2x4 Automatic
Extended Cab
Long Box (8' long)
I love them both equally. They are both pretty hard on gas but they are big trucks so its expected. My Ford F-250 drives like a caddy. Ever so smooth and you can't feel a single bump on the highway.
My Dodge Ram drives really nice but its a little rougher than my Ford. I guess it simply feels more like a truck than my Ford.
Mechaniclly my Ford F-250 has been top notch with little or no repairs.
My Dodge I just got a month ago and it currently needs Camshaft and Crankshaft Position Sensors and a new AC Compressor (bearing let go). Other than that I don't have any problems with it.
I guess the answer to your million dollar question is drive it, if it feels good and you like it then take care of it. Nuff Said.
