Default Stereo system Help!

I just bought a 12" Kicker L7 2ohm dvc sub box is already built its sealed in the back of a 95 Ram 1500. I need a little bit of help on an amp that i want to buy it is a JBL GTO 1201.1 787RMS W at 4ohms. I think the altenator in the truck is a 120amp altenator (not sure) will the trucks altenator be amp to handle that amp? more info The amp has 3 40amp fuses so 120 amps is the most the amp will pull i was told will i need a high output altenator?

will be doing the big 3 with 0g and a deep cycle battery.

I'm running around 780 watts rms total with mine thats with 2 amps and it does fine but it's a lot less than what you are going to be running with that amp so I really don't know.

You could also install acapacitorand that should take care of it. I have never used one myself but I've heard they really help with heavy amp loads. Here is a link http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...?CategoryID=26

Yeah the alternator would be fine with it. Definitely get a a capacitor, it will keep your headlights from dimming and it will make the sub hit harder. I don't know how many farads you need but it is a must.

I've been debating on a capacitor myself. The charging system does OK under normal driving, but at stoplights or low speed driving the lights dim as the bass hits. Looks wicked at around 25-30 mph. Just enough to notice. Usually just turn it down a little or cut down the AC/heater fan until moving again.....
