Its more preference and what you use the truck for that judges if you should do gears or not. If your not doing much highway driving you may find that its not worth the money. As far as i know you wont be doing any damage running the bigger tires. The bigger tires will more likely effect wheel bearings, tie rod ends and track bar.

do you need to change them ? No
But you will probably find your truck seem a bit low on power now and your fuel economy will probably take a hit

Depends on what kind of money you want to spend on the truck. Gears are gona be around 1000 bucks an axle from what ive found around me. It might make more sence to spend money on some cheaper proformance mods. Intake, throttle body, exhaust can help bring back some of the power lost from the bigger tires.

Since you have a 2wd you will only have one axle to do...you can expect to pay about $500-800 for a good set of gears and the install. I would suggest it considering the increased tire. If you don't change them with that large of an increase, you are placing more stress on your drivetrain components, and we all know how strong these Dodge transmissions are.
