Default Anyone know of big block conversion kits?

Since Im going to have to totaly replace all the wires for my freekin truck, iv been thinking about going carb'd. Id really have no want to switch from efi to a carb unless I was putting a big block in there, sooo Im thinking it might just be the perfect time to look into getting a 440. I really dont have any clue whats going to not opperate because of taking out the computer and all, so any ideas would be helpful. Iv also been looking for big block conversion kits and cant seem to find any. (mounts, trans adapters, etc.)

THERE IS AN ARTICLE IN A OLD ISSUE OF HIGHPERFORMANCEMOPAR THAT HAD A DETAILED ARTICLE ON HOW TO SWAP A BIG BLOCK IN A 94 ON UP RAM. IT WAS AROUND 1998 OR 1999. I HAVE THE MAG SOMEWHERE. I WILL DIG IT UP AND POST IT AS SOON I FIND. AS FOR THE COMPUTER YOU CANT USE THE STOCK ONE SINCE IT IS OBD2. YOU KEEP THE STOCK ONE TO RUN THE TRANNY. AND USE A F.A.S.T. COMPUTER TO RUN THE INJECTION AND SENSORS ON THE BIG BLOCK. YOU CAN ALSO GET A TRANNY ADAPTER TO MOUNT TO THE BIGBLOCK.

a weld will never hold up to the abusive torque of an engine. hes going to need 440 mounts.hes morethan likely going to need a way to fabricate a 440 engine crossmember in there along will drilling the necessary holes for the mounts. probably has been done before.keeping the same tranny and mating it to the 440 will be a challenge. aftermarket bellhousings may be available, if not one will have to be fabricated. i would worry about the physicalinstallation of theengine and the flywheel/torque converterbolt up and the trans bellhousing before i would worry about electrical connections.no need to swap the rear by the way..

Another option would be motor plates and a 727 torqueflight trans like it used to have since you'll be eminating the computer anyways. I'm sure it would take alot of money to build/buy atrans anyway to handle the power and torque of the 440. Then at that point with the motor plate and 727 all you would have to do is make a custom trans mount. Hell evenat that timeI know you can wrench but i don't know if you do have access towelders and such to even custom make your own motor mounts. After thatyou can get all aftermarket gaugesto eliminate the need for the computer all together.Whats left to be street driven lights. Hell that would be easy to get aroundeven though i'm almost positive they are not part of the computer system. This is the thingsI have been forced to do when swaping in big blocksin fox body mustangs and stuff. If there is a will there is a way and why not?Just some more thoughts for ya.
