Difference between a 1500 and a sport 1500?
I've been looking for a Ram 1500 to buy lately, and today I saw a Ram 1500 for sale. I don't know a lot about trucks and was wondering what, if any, difference there is between the two. Is there any difference at all to the bodies?
the shape of the grill is different its shorter height wise(learned that when bought aftermarket billet)and the headlights are different also and some other aftermarket **** doesnt fit the sport model like the regular models....j
The sport models have two piece headlights, one bulb for low beam and one for high beam. The grille is deeper in thickness, again as it has been said, the front bumper is plastic with a metal sub-frame for strength, and a color matching rear bumper. Also body lifts for regular rams won't work with sport models, i found out the hard. The bumper brackets are different, but also something about the automatic tranny or the mountsin the sport models are different than the regular rams. Another reason most body lifts for reg. rams won't work. Now if you find a Sport model "Off-Road" package ram, it sits 2" higher than a reg. sport model.
it also deps ont he year of the truck 1997 and older are just the reg body but the front and rear bumper, tail lights, grills is all paint but is the same body as a reg dodge. The 1998 and up have the diff grills and front bumper anddiffhight lights like boduke was talking about
