Default blown Tranny

I have a 94 ram 1500 5spd that blew its tranny today, shops say itll be around $2200-$3000 to fix it. Money that I dont have i can get a used tranny for $1200 and put it in myself, but im looking to sell the truck anyway, suggestions on what its worth with a blown tranny? or fix it then sell it?

not sure, but the tranny cost is probally what your truck is worth $3000,since its a 94..i would try to rebuild it myself then sell it... who says that $1200 tranny is any better? unless you just need a quick fix to trade it in on something else...

If you just one to get off the truck anyway then yeah a junkyard tranny is your best bet. If it works. You will barely get anything for a truck that dosen't drive, exp being a dodge. I mean the lower resale is the whole reason I have a 99 dodge worktruck and not a 93 Chevy or a F150. Plus they look better IMHO.

You can rebuild it yourself for less. There are resources to help you.
