Please tell me that some of these Rammies go their life without needing a transmission. I really like my 2001 5.2 2WD Quad Cab long bed. However it seems to me that almost every day someone is crying that their Tranny went belly up... and then comes the POW$$ right in the kisser to get it fixed.

How many miles does your 2nd GenRam have and still on the original Trans????

 

I have 146,000 but its been iffy for a while. It hasn't slipped on me in months, but I know I need to fix it next. I was going to get one from a yard and rebuild it myself then drop it in. Probably the best way to go.

 

I got 107,000 on mine with no sign or any problems (knock on wood)
but I don't power brake the **** out of it or anything stupid either. and I don't often find myself towing anything, so that could go along way towards making it last.

 

i got 152k on mine and rolling shes been good to me and i dont tow much and i punch it a bit but shes on wound out in 2nd gear once and it was 1st thing in the morn it was 40 in tampa knock on wood i dont have any problems with it....j

 

I got 97k out of mine before I started having issues. I fixxed those issues and am having even more now at 99k miles so it's getting replaced.

 

01 ram 1500 had 80k on the clock when it had a tranny flush. @ 90k, she said she had enough. Just depends as my truck didnt come with the tow package, treated considerate (I know the previous owner very well). He did the tranny flush and had the tranny rebuilt just before I got it. My friend has an 01 2500. His previous owner beat the **** out of it towing huge campers, and he has around 85K and his tranny is still going.

 

My truck was owned by construction company and by the looks of the body they beat the living crap out of it. It now has 115k on orig tranny, I beat it but dont powerbrake. I have been thinkn the tranny has been goin out for last 4 yrs. Doesnt like to shift into 3rd when cold. but still goin.

 

Mine went at about 112K, But the last 3000 miles before that it was acting really weird, and the truck was almost undriveable

 

around 100k (all highway) when my tranny started bitchin. Still running her at 115k but she DOES NOT LIKE THE COLD!! 5.9 and New Tranny On the Way! OwNaGe!

 

Yeah I have been thinking my tranny was going out for most of the last year. I put two bottles of that Lucas Grease in it and It hasn't slipped on me in a while. I also keep it kinda dry. I expect it to go out at any time. I just want to see what its got left.
